Symphony of the Seas
ADDPMP583The fourth Oasis-class cruise ship owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International. The Symphony of the Seas was built in 2018 in the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
At 228,081 GT, Symphony of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world by gross tonnage, surpassing the ship Harmony of the Seas, also owned by Royal Caribbean International. It measures 361 metres (1,184 feet) in length, about 30m (98ft) longer than the largest military ships ever built, the US Nimitz-class aircraft carriers.
It has a capacity of 5,518 passengers at double occupancy, up to 6,680 passengers maximum, and can accommodate a 2,200-person crew.
Among the 18 decks, 16 are dedicated to guests, divided into 2,759 cabins. Facilities include 22 restaurants, four pools, a children’s water park, a full-size basketball court, an ice-skating rink, a zip line that is 10 decks high, a 1,400-seat theatre, an outdoor aquatic theatre with Olympic-height platforms, two 13m (43ft) rock-climbing walls and a park containing over 20,000 tropical plants.
