  • Dress in comfortable clothing.
  • Enter a quiet, dim room and sit comfortable in a reclined position.
  • Do not lie down. Do not cross your legs.
  • Cover yourself with a blanket and wear headphones, if necessary.
  • Allow for 30 minutes of uninterrupted time (silence your devices and lock the door).
  • Choose your hypnosis goal and memorize it as a mantra or affirmation. It is important to visualize your mantra in the present tense, such as: “I am in control, and I am valuable;” “I choose to no longer smoke cigarettes;” or “I am eating healthy.”
  • Close your eyes and imagine your eyelids becoming heavier. Rid your mind of fear, stress, and anxiety by letting these thoughts drift by and disappear.
  • Imagine all the tension in your body slowly falling away from and vanishing. Start with your head and scan each body part until you reach your toes.
  • Take slow, deep breaths.
  • Imagine you are floating, as though you are submerged in water.
  • Repeat your affirmations as often as you desire.
  • Imagine you are stepping out of the water.
  • Feel yourself become lighter with each step.
  • Ascend back into your consciousness. Stretch. Open your eyes.
