Parkett Magazine

ADDPMP596

Parkett was founded in the early 1980s with the idea of fostering an open dialogue between the artistic communities of Europe and America and to collaborate with important international artists, including Laurie Anderson, Meret Oppenheim, Georg Baselitz, Louise Bourgeois, Francesco Clemente, Dennis Oppenheim, Peter Fischli and David Weiss, Rebecca Horn, Ilya Kabakov, Alex Katz, Brice Marden, Bruce Nauman, Ann Hamilton, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter, Andy Warhol, Sherrie Levine, Jannis Kounellis, Richard Serra, Hanne Darboven, Mariko Mori, Robert Mapplethorpe, John Baldessari or Joseph Beuys. Each featured artist’s oeuvre was explored in several essays by writers and critics in both German and English. They were also invited to create a special signed and numbered work, exclusive to Parkett. In addition to the collaboration with these artists, Parkett featured various articles on contemporary art within a series of playful rubrics such as Cumulus, Insert, or Les Infos du Paradis. In 2017, the magazine ceased publication with its 100th issue.
